What had started out as a single point of light kilometers away on the black horizon of the dam was now the headlights of a car speeding around the edge of the Montargil Dam.

I don't think Fernanda Bettencourt had ever seen me look so serious. She grabbed her backpack with some accessories and threw herself into the Punto.

She was wearing only a pink dress, no lingerie...
The dress was completely soaked, sticking to her skin... Even in the middle of August 2014, being soaked at eleven o'clock at night makes any breeze, no matter how gentle, cause her skin to shiver.
I had already captured these details of Fernanda's skin in the photos I had just taken...

We had to get out of there quickly.
Above all, I felt brutally responsible for Fernanda's safety and I wanted to get her out of that potentially dangerous situation.

I raised my head and looked at the horizon.
The car was getting closer and closer. I could perfectly distinguish the work of the suspension on the irregularities of the shore. The headlights went up and down, lighting up the left, lighting up the right...
I'd say it was already about five hundred meters from our location.
I felt the adrenaline rush. I've always liked the feeling, but my heart was really racing.

The main difficulty of the session would be getting focus points in total darkness. The generators I was using at the time only ensured that the flashes fired; they didn't light the respective modeling lights.
I tried to solve the problem with a flashlight I had brought along, but it didn't work. It was impractical and the outline of the focus was too obvious on the model's body.
I solved the issue with the Punto's headlights!
Car on by the shore and headlights pointed at the water.
Exactly as I'd seen in some night surfing videos.

The session went well.
A little cold. Wet and muddy, but with a good feeling!
I was convinced that, once again, Fernanda and her skin-tight pink dress were going to be a hit at the Portal Privado!

All that was missing was the video.

At the time, all the Private Portal ads had video.
- Let's make the video with just the car lights!
I said, with the enthusiasm of yet another mission almost accomplished.
- Get ready. If you want, check your lipstick while I put the flashes in the car. We won't be needing them any more.
I seemed to be guessing what was coming...
- João... João! What's that?
I noticed some concern in Fernanda's voice as she pointed away.
I turned my head towards her arm and saw a light far away on the horizon.
- Whoa... Strange... I don't know. That light... It's moving! It's a car!
- Maybe we should take a quick video so we can leave.
- É...
Zero conviction in my voice as I thought I'd been photographing a scantily-clad model, completely naked at the end... Illuminated by the headlights of a car... An unusual scene, visible from miles away!
- No! We have to get out of here now!
- What about the video?
- We'll make something up later, we can't stay here to see what happens. This will never be good for us!

I threw all the equipment into the Punto, which was in van mode, as was customary outside, carrying the lights and generators.
Water, mud, chaos!
I turned off the car's lights.
I didn't want anyone to notice our hustle and bustle to leave.

The car was practically invisible. It only had a very faint blue outline caused by the moonlight. I liked it.

I looked at the horizon again. The lights were getting closer and closer... So close that I could tell I was going quite fast, considering I was off-road.
- I don't like this at all!
I closed the trunk and got in.
I was barefoot. Even though my feet were wet and muddy, I started to reverse.
- Aren't you going to turn on the lights?
Fernanda asked in a surprised voice
- No! I know the way. It's safer, no one can see us!
- Okay...

I did know the way. The moon was enough to guide us out of there. All I could think about was reaching the tarmac of the national road - the famous EN2.
I was very happy and confident that I had turned off the lights.
I was flying down that dirt track. A scene worthy of a movie!

I never looked back.

Tarmac!
- We've made it! What madness...
- John. What about the video? Can we put one of the old ones?
- No... The public would buy it thinking it was a new video... We can't do that.
- So we go back to Lisbon and do it in the Private Portal studio?
- No, that's no fun at all...

I noticed a sign indicating that we were on our way to Mora.
- We'll do it up ahead in Mora!
- What do you mean?
- We'll stop wherever there's street lighting and do it! In Madness! People who see the video will realize it was done on the way! Much more fun than going back to the studio now.

And so it was.
